13 year old author gets support from Warren Buffett

Warren Buffett is a man that needs no introduction, known around the world for his expertise and lifelong commitment to financial and business excellence. So why would he take the time to not only accept a novel from an unknown 13-year-old African-American author but also send him a personal thank you?

I believe it is because Warren Buffet is a genuine human being who understands the power of appreciation. Warren Buffet receives hundreds of books and proposals, he is busy overseeing his corporate interests and expanding his financial reach.  At the end of the day, he understands, just like Xavier Waye that gratitude is more powerful than any amount of money you could spend.

For 13-year-old African American novelist Xavier Waye, the response from Warren Buffett was a game changer. The letter is a symbol of everything that children are taught at home and in school. Children are taught to respect others, to be kind to others, and especially; "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!" Children are told, If you work hard, you will be rewarded. Most of the time that reward may or may not come when they are much older. In this case, the reward came at a time when this young author, in a class of his own, stepped out on faith and executed his recipe for life; Decide! Believe! Do!.

Xavier Waye is a 13-year-old African American novelist, or storyteller as he would say. He is the CEO of his own publishing company, Savior Publishing,  under which he published the first book in his 5-part series; The Adventures of Firesky: Raven of the Nile. The book chronicles the life and times of the most famous boy king, King Tutankhamen. The book tells the story of Raven, the daughter of King Tutankhamen that has been kept a secret for more than 3,000 years. The story highlights the adventure that her brother Firesky, or adopted brother as he would discover, goes on with his band of friends to rescue his sister when the high priest and royal council to King Tutankhamen discover the child. The first book provides the foundation for the journey and catapults the reader from modern day to Ancient Egypt.

Readers of the book have commented that Xavier Waye is a literary prodigy, that his story in full of details that makes the reader feel like they are in Ancient Egypt. One reader commented that Xavier Waye's writing is on the level of Ernest Hemingway. Xavier Waye has embraced all of the accolades as a seasoned professional writer. He has commented that "it feels really good to know people love my story." The letter from Warren Buffett holds a special place, as Xavier reciprocates the appreciation from Mr. Buffett. Xavier said it is amazing that Mr. Buffett was willing to support a kid like him.

This will be the first of many letters of thanks to this amazing young storyteller, Xavier Waye.
